RESources from URban BIo-waSte: the overall objective of the project is to integrate into a single facility and to use one main technology chain for the conversion of several types of urban bio-wastes into valuable bio-based products, while also minimizing any residual or consequent waste to be disposed of.



Innovative Eco-Technologies for Resource Recovery from Wastewater: INCOVER’s aim is to develop innovative and sustainable added-value technologies for a resource recovery-based treatment of wastewater, using smart operation monitoring and control methodologies.



CIRCULAR WATER SOLUTIONS: Challenging embedded thinking and practices in the water sector by embracing circular economy principles and technological innovation.



SAVING-E is a pilot project dealing with the transformation of the current wastewater treatment plants from being energy-consumers to energy-sufficient or even energy-producer facilities.



Innovative, regenerative and circular solutions for nature-based water management, based on circular value chains.


Re-designing the value and supply chain of water and minerals: A circular economy approach for the recovery of resources from brine generated by process industries’ advances circular economy business model solutions to reduce industrial saline wastewater streams by recovering and reusing the minerals and water from the brine in other industries, thus ‘closing the loop’ and improving the environmental impacts of production.


The project proposes an on-site reuse scheme including five different technologies to constitute a completely new treatment scheme in the petrochemical industry: physicochemical pretreatment, moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR), ultrafiltration (UF), reverse osmosis (RO) and water deionization using ion exchange resins (IER).
